The Old Bridge, The New Bridge

The Old Bridge that links Kroscienko town with neighbouring resort Szczawnica is currently being renovated. The construction works should finish by June 2011.

The old bridge is 76 years old - built in 1934. So about time it's been renovated!
The design of the new bridge is a duplicate of the old one.

The Old Church

Built in the 14th century, the Old Church in the town square is a major local attraction.

The oldest interior paintings date back to 1370-1380.

The cross is tributed to Blessed Jerzy Popieluszko - a priest murdered by the communists.

Decorating with plates & mirrors

These are some of the items I bought on ebay. I love the shabby chic style mirrors. The plates will look great hanging on the dining room wall.

I am thinking of hanging the mirrors in the bathrooms. These should go nicely with the tiles I picked - it'll be sort of a shabby chic + modern metalic look

Finally starting this blog

It's a beautiful winter day here in southern Poland. The sun is shining & the snow is sparkling.

Pooches had a nice long walk & are now resting

Even the cat is exhausted from frolicking in the snow.

Loving the wash basin & my mum's towel ;-)

Anyway, that's not what my blog is about. It's about starting my own business or should I say - family business

Exterior - front of the b&b

We are in the process of building two B&B's ....still a tough road ahead of us....but... we are determined to give it our best shot & would like you (readers) to be a part of this journey. :-))

Interior - living room & reading area

Interior - entrance, dining room & staircase

View from the rooms - back of the b&b

Bedroom with balcony

As you can see it's still pretty 'raw'.

The construction team is currently working on the exterior, painting the wood elements and insulating with polystyrene foam....tough job especially with the current high snow & low temperatures (2 degrees celsius).
